Subject: New refs in NRL

Just wondering on how new refs got 'blooded' if i could use that term, into the NRL. I see refs such as Alan Shortall Chris James and Adam Devcich running lines in the NRL. is this a way of getting them used to the speed of the game. I presume all these blokes will one day be in the centre. How long before this will happen??
