Alan is a full time Referee in the NRL squad. Chris and Adam are both currently Premier Squad Referees. The path to NRL central officiating is via the touch line and Both Adam and Chris have taken that step.

When a Referee makes his NRL debut, they receive a number, along the lines of Kangaroo players and the Australian cricket team for example. Adam will be presented with his jersey tonight with his number, 93, on it. The jersey will be retired (I would imagine) after the game on Saturday night in Townsville to take pride of place framed on the lounge room wall, unless Mrs Devcich vetoes the idea.

It is just a way that the Nrl Leadership Group is moving forward creating their small piece of history as they go.

Incidentally, at the recent lunch to launch 100 years of refereeing in Australia, a unique item was purshased by the NRL Referees' squad. It is a framed jersey, signed by all living grand final referees. From Jack Bradley who controlled the 1962 decider to Last year's Paul Simpkins, all 15 Referees signed the jersey. And there is only one, which now hangs proudly in the new ofices at Telstra stadium. Lancashire, Holman, Hartley, Cook, Bruyeres, Harrigan, and all the others are there.
