I was thinking the same thing! Why can't the amount of the award be lowered? They're punishing the "victim" and the family in order to punish Geoff, and the "victim" and the family/caretakers are the ones getting the brunt of this financial hit! I was also wondering if the "jurists" were more interested in keeping the money in MI, rather than awarding any of it to the "victim" and the family. This is so ridiculous it really defies any try to "explain" this mess!
