Not quite sure why the coaches made such negative comments about it being the end for two great clubs as far as playing in the top league is concerned.

Whilst it is plainly obvious that is what the WRU and Steve Hansen want to do, should we not consider the following before saying it's the end:

(1) The gang of six can't even agree who should represent them in discussions.
(2) Megamouth Mr Samuel and his bunch of Bridgend men are no
no longer wanted by the Gang.
(3) Ebbw Vale's loyalty agreement, which essentially means that there cannot be less than 8 clubs in the Premier league unless they are relegated (not much chance of that).
(4) Although there probably is n't any conviction in WRU's statement, there is supposed to be automatic promotion this season.
(5) Irish don't want a full blown Celtic League i.e. home and away. There aren't enough fixtures for the Premier clubs at the moment, what will happen then? How many Saturday home games have Newport had ??

SO LET'S GO OUT AND BE POSITIVE AND AIM TO WIN EVERY GAME. NONE OF THIS NEGATIVE TALK.

ROB ANY CLUBS STATEMENT DUE ON THIS ??

>Agree entirely with the above comments. Unless Steve Jones and Chris Callaghan know something that we don't then this seems a very strange thing to be saying. The Echo also stated last week that any change would have to approved by the clubs at yet another special meeting and it is hard to see that happening. Given that I suspect nobody really knows what is likely to happen we still need to ensure that we win the division this year. No matter what the future holds we need to be in the best possible position which means being champions, no point in not going flat out to win the division only then to find that there will be promotion. Need another good performance at Tondu on Tuesday to build on yesterdays.

A statement from the club/webmaster/Bob Jude would be useful.

I agree totally.Unbeleivable comment from the two coaches. How can the spirit of our great club Pontypool be maintained when our coach is saying negative things like. Now is the time for belief in our cause-WE WILL BE BACK WHERE WE BELONG....AT THE TOP !!
