Wow, it seems like it's been such a long time, in some ways, and in others not. I found this group in 1999 off Viviana's page and it's been one of the few constants in my online life. Thank you all for being part of it. I've got some great memories here and I hope we'll continue for another 10 years or more. :)

- Hey -- Micha, 05:32:55 03/25/08 Tue [1]
Yo, what's up everybody? Finally, I am surfing on in again to read what everyone's up to. It's so great to see some familiar names still being around! It's amazing that after such a long time people still coming here and I hope that'll continue. I know I am not posting that often...well, I never did, just popping in from time to time but always love coming back ;) And I sure remember times when moderating was a necessity (sp?) :)
Here, I am still jobless...for more than a year inbetween which is really frustrating but I don't give up hope! Still I am enjoying my life. Even though my family turns more and more crazy...well, the one part of the family that is but honestly said I never had much to do with them...
Other than that I am looking forward to next month when I'll be seeing a bike race again. Actually, I wanted to "start my season" yesterday but the race got cancelled due to the weather conditions. Snow everywhere! So yeah, I'll have to wait a bit longer, lol. Actually, what I am looking for most this year so far is the last weekend of June coz I'll combine a concert and a bike race, lol. That'll be fun, first the Linkin Park concert and the following day the German championship bicycle race. :)
Well, I guess I gotta run, sorry! Take care all, I see ya soon!

Wow, I guess I should have read further down the page when I stopped in last month to post about my friend's band! I think I stopped right about the pictures of Dax's wedding. LOL I had no idea that you had moved up to Washington! I had to scroll down and find out when it was you moved. You did indeed pick a beautiful little town to move to. I've only ever driven through it, but it seemed very sweet. And from the description of your home, you definitely have a gorgeous space around you!
My best wishes to everyone! It's nice to hear about what's been going on. Take care all!

And holy moly, the Dax-man is married! It's a bit late, but I'd like to add my big hearty congratulation and sincere wishes for a happy and blessed future together. Thanks for sharing the pics! And Daxmom, you are forever young. What's the secret? :-) And welcome to the West Coast! It looks like you're enjoying your new place. :-)
Mary K, how are you and Lauren and all your beautiful daughters? Aloha Malia, wish you the best of health! Congrats on the engagement Brooke, hope you and Chris are getting to spend lots of time together. Josh, dude, how's it going? I still remember what a great job you did with the *NSYNC news archive. :-)
Lots of fun and fond memories here. Thanks for keeping it up, Daxmom! Here's to hoping for more anniversaries to come. :-)

- Hey Silver! I'm glad to see you back on here! Thanks so much for the congratulations on my engagement! Chris is still deployed, so we aren't able to spend time together right now. But, he did get to come home in January for 2 weeks for R&R and that was wondeful! We are getting married in June, so we're both really excited about that! And Malia, we are going to MAUI for our honeymoon! It's already booked for us! So a little more than 3 months to go! Ahhhh!!! I"m getting excited! :) Anyway, I'm glad to see that you're doing great! (NT) -- Brooke, 19:42:39 03/04/08 Tue
- Hey Silver. It's good to see you. How are you doing? Brooke I think you're going to love Maui and you're coming at a great time of year, so you should have lots of sunshine. :) (NT) -- Malia, 22:39:38 03/04/08 Tue
Hey, Silver! There have been a couple other "oldies" drop by recently. Lizzy made a fly-by a while ago. Yes, we shared & made lots of good memories here. It would be sad to see this place closed, yet everyone is so busy with life. (NT) -- Josh, 11:07:21 03/05/08 Wed
Hi Silver! What have you been up to lately? Email me please with a nice long update. It's been WAY too long! We love living in the Pacific Northwest--it's awesome here. If you ever get to the Seattle area, please come visit us. The DaxFiles 10th anniversary is coming up in June, and that's when we'll say adios and turn it into an email list for those who still want to stay in touch. It's been a wonderful long run, and it sort of like a high school reunion when our "lost sheep" stop by for a visit. :-) (NT) -- Lynn, 14:50:16 03/06/08 Thu

Hi Everyone! -- Leah, 13:49:06 03/03/08 Mon [4]
Lynn, it's so good to read up on what's been going on with everyone. Congratulations to Dax and Melissa! The pictures are wonderful. Thanks for sharing them.
I wasn't a big poster, more of a reader, but you might remember me as the winner of the first Dax Files contest, with lyrics to "Dax and His Keys." That was fun! In the past few years a lot has changed for me - I got married, changed jobs and even changed states! I moved from my home state of Texas to Illinois. And right now I am getting really tired of the snow! Just thought I'd say hello and hope to hear from anyone that remembers me. :-)

Welcome 2008!!! -- Lynn, 13:55:42 01/05/08 Sat [4]
This is a few days late, but Happy New Year everyone! 2008 begins the 10th Anniversary year of the DaxFiles! Wow--can you believe this little forum has been hanging around for nearly 10 years??? Back in the day, during the "N Sane" years, this was a very busy corner of cyber space! That was a pretty wild time--we even had to enable the forum moderation feature for awhile to keep things under control. :) Do any of you remember those crazy days?
We're a much smaller group now, but your loyal friendship and support for each other and the Dax-fam is really heart-warming. You have taken this little forum far beyond the Q&A fan site that it was originally. Our sincere appreciation and thanks to all of you! My hope is to keep this place going until we reach our 10th Anniversary date of June 10, 2007 (hey, 10 on the 10th, it's even a Golden Anniversary!). After that milestone, if there's enough interest, maybe we can start an email list for those of us who still want to stay in touch.
Have a happy, healthy and blessed New Year.

- Favorite Christmas Music -- Jules, 11:53:26 12/04/07 Tue [7]
I was just wondering if any of the folks here would like to mention some of their favorite Christmas CDs or even individual songs. Here are some of my favorites: Amy Grant (Home for Christmas), Henry Mancini (A Merry Mancini Christmas), Gloria Estefan (Christmas Through Your Eyes), Andy Williams (Personal Christmas Collection), and Living Voices (The Little Drummer Boy). I listen exclusively to Christmas music from Thanksgiving until New Year's, and I am always interested in hearing what others' favorites are, in case I want to add to my collection.

I've been listening to Martina McBride, N'Sync, and Christina Aguilera's Christmas albums. I also love Faith Hill's song from The Grinch - Where are You Christmas. (NT) -- Josh, 10:24:33 12/07/07 Fri
- I like to rock it up a bit at Christmas. Anything by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is always good; "Merry Axemas: A Guitar Christmas," and its follow-up; the Brian Setzer Orchestra; and then classics like the "Charlie Brown Christmas" soundtrack. (NT) -- Dax, 12:15:04 12/07/07 Fri
- I just went to the amazing holiday concert at the school I work at (620 person finale!), so I'm in the spirit. Lots of good songs already listed. I really want to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert. I like Kenny G's Miracles album and George Winston's December. Still a sucker for the boyband harmonies and love "I Don't Want to Spend One More Xmas w/o You." Elliott Yamin's Sounds of the Season album has surprised me, too. (NT) -- Janelle, 21:43:04 12/09/07 Sun
- Thanks, everyone, for the replies. I thought I would mention a few of my favorite holiday songs/artists. I like many versions of Carol of the Bells, especially John Tesh's, David Fosters, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra's (Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24). I also like Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Canon, Andy Williams' Happy Holidays/Holiday Season, Alabama's Christmas in Dixie, SheDaisy's Jingle Bells, Gloria Estefan's Let it Snow, MercyMe's (with Amy Grant) Silent Night, and Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, just to name a few. Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Boss... -- DAMmom, 15:40:14 10/31/07 Wed [21]

Dax and Melissa's wedding was spectacularly beautiful. The bride was glowingly gorgeous and the groom was appropriately nervous (nothing a few pre-ceremony piano tunes couldn't take care of though!). Their wedding day was simply perfect. It was everything they hoped for and more. Lots more pics to follow in the reply. :-)

I felt as though I'd been adopted into the family for a few days. Congratulations on everything working out so well Lynn, and it was great seeing you again. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a day full of love and laughter celebrating with friends and family. I know for me it's been an exciting year as it was for a lot of you.
The thing I'm most grateful for this year is getting my health back. Six weeks ago I had back surgery and I'm feeling better than I have in almost three years. I'm really looking forward to the future and what it will bring. :)
God Bless you all,
Malia

Wedding countdown... -- Lynn, 09:20:17 10/16/07 Tue [7]
Dum Dum Da Dum...the boss is about to say bye bye to bachelorhood! :-)
Dax and Melissa will be married at 4 pm on Sunday, October 28, 2007. We're all in a whirl of wedding preparations! Everything is lining up and falling into place--a few minor issues like Jill's bridesmaid dress arriving last week in a size TWICE as large as what was ordered for her 3 months ago. The dress shop in Orlando insists they can cut it down and remake it overnight before the wedding, so she's rushing there immediately after she arrives. :-P She's bringing along a "stand-in" dress just in case. These are the things we'll all remember after the big day though, not the stuff that goes smoothly.
The boss is holding up well, but at this point, I think he's looking forward to having the big event over. Weddings do have a way of becoming overwhelming, even when you think you're going simple. It will be a wonderful wedding and a special day for both of them. Just wait until he sees his beautiful bride walking down that aisle...I'm sure I won't be the only one reaching for a tissue. :-)
I'll be posting pics after we get back home, so be watching for those in early November.

- Deployment -- Brooke, 21:25:56 08/28/07 Tue [6]
Well, my fiance` came home this past weekend for a 4 day pass. He's been in TX/New Mexico for about 2 1/2 months. It's been really tough. But, this past weekend was great. He was able to come back to a new home (yes, we bought a new home together) and we were able to spend the entire 4 days together. It was awesome spending that time with him. He's my world and we have a new life that is on hold until he returns from Iraq. He is being deployed on Friday. He is back in NM right now, but will be heading to Iraq Friday for 9 to 15 months. We're really not sure yet. Going by his orders, it should be 9 months. Going by the maximum amount of time he could spend over there, it's 15 months. So, we plan for 15 and hope for 9. This is THE HARDEST thing I've ever had to do in my life. This next year is going to be really rough. I kind of feel like I'm going to be on autopilot until he returns. Anyway, please pray that God will watch over Chris and his unit and will return them all back home safely.
Thanks and take care,
Brooke

Blast from the past -- Lizzie, 04:46:39 08/27/07 Mon [10]
Holy cow. I was doing some spring cleaning of the AOL favourites and ran across here. I haven't been here in probably close to almost 5 years. So much has changed since I was last here. Congratulations to everyone who's become engaged, expecting, graduated, bought a new house, got a new job, and the list could go on.
I've definitely been keeping with the busy Southern California lifestyle. I do wonder about you guys from time to time. I think that's why I started going through my favourites. Who all's still here?

It's been a really good run, and I've met so many wonderful folks here over the years. I'm in and out of the forum lately--we moved to the Seattle area recently, and there's much to do yet. Dax & Melissa are getting married two months from tomorrow--October 28! Wow--it's coming fast! What have you been doing the last few years. Sounds like you're still in sunny CA. Time for an update from you! :-) (NT) -- Lynn, 20:37:45 08/27/07 Mon

Yep, still in beautiful (and ridiculously hot and humid, seriously, it's east coast humid out here!) California. I've had a few jobs since moving here, but I've finally found a career with UPS. It's hard running a day care center for grown men and women (read my drivers). At 25, I'm finding the older I get the faster time goes. It still feels like yesterday that I was just barely touching ground in California at 20. Both of my parent's healths are failing. So between working full time and taking care of them, I do manage to find time to enjoy life. My friends defintely know how to make life interesting, we were at a LAN party last night, tonight it's the beach I think. I've grown up from the pop music to the punk rock princess as my friends call me. I drive an SUV now. I know I know. All this talk about Global warming and I go and buy an SUV. It gets 3x better gas mileage than my truck did though! (trying to justify it!). (NT) -- Liz, 21:17:14 09/02/07 Sun

Farewell to Florida -- Lynn, 05:33:38 07/01/07 Sun [9]
Tomorrow is moving day! We'll be traveling to our new home in Poulsbo, WA, all next week, and may not have computers set up for awhile after we arrive, so I'll be "away" from the Files for the next couple of weeks. Moving is SO stressful! I can't believe all the boxes around here--or that we still have so much stuff after two clean sweeps! Where does it all come from? :-P If I never see another cardboard box it will be too soon!
We are so excited about our new home and community. Poulsbo is a quaint little waterfront town across Puget Sound from Seattle. We have a rooftop deck with a view of the marina and bay, and our backyard has a real babbling brook! There are flowers and fruit trees galore in our yard, and we're just a short walk away from the cute little downtown with restaurants, galleries and shops. For big city stuff, Seattle is just a ferry ride away. There's natural beauty surrounding us on all sides--and cooler summers! :-) Yeah, I know, cooler (and wetter) winters too! That's OK, we've stored up LOTS of sunshine in the last 14 years here in Florida!
Take care everyone and have a safe 4th of July! I'll be back in a few weeks with pics and an update on our road trip & move.

- 5 count indictment for boy band mogul -- Malia, 20:25:45 06/27/07 Wed [1]
The creator of the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury on charges he defrauded a bank out of $20 million.
Lou Pearlman, 53, was indicted on three counts of bank fraud, and single counts of mail and wire fraud for business with Evansville, Ind.-based Integra Bank N.A., according to court documents.
Pearlman is most famous for forming boy bands in the '90s, but was also involved in airplane charter, real estate, model scouting and restaurant ventures. He stands accused of fraudulently securing millions in bank loans with documents from a fake accounting firm.
Assets have been liquidated in two bankruptcy cases against Pearlman and his companies, and the entertainment mogul has ignored court actions against him for months.
Florida investigators separately allege Pearlman defrauded more than 1,000 individual investors out of more than $315 million. Several banks say he collectively owes them more than $120 million, according to bankruptcy court documents.
Pearlman was arrested in Indonesia on one count of bank fraud earlier this month. He was expelled from Bali after the FBI contacted authorities there, then he was transferred to U.S. custody and flown to Guam. Pearlman was flown to Los Angeles, and U.S. Marshal Jimmy Disbrow said authorities will soon transport him to Florida.
"It's roughly going to be about two weeks before we see him," U.S. Marshal Jimmy Disbrow said Wednesday.
A call placed by The Associated Press to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Orlando was not immediately returned. It was not known if Pearlman had an attorney.

- Hi All -- Kirah, 09:44:19 06/22/07 Fri [3]
It's been sooo very long since I've been here so you guys might not remember me! So much has changed! Congrats to Dax on the engagement and Lynn, good luck to you with the big move!
Seems like people here have knowlege of long distance moves so I hope you guys can help me! My boyfriend and I have decided, after many trips to Orlando, that we want to relocate from Philly to Orlando by January, or my birthday in March. What is the best way to prepare for a move like this? I don't want to contact any apartments if we don't have jobs lined up, but then I don't know how to go about applying for jobs without having a place to live. Its been so frustrating for me. Does anyone have any tips? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks so much!

Sorry for the long delay, but I've been swamped getting ready for our upcoming move. I finally had a few minutes free, and decided to spend it with Paulina's new songs. :-) WOW!!! I love all of them! Every time I think I have a favorite, I play another one and that one becomes my new favorite! All that said, I'd have to say that Too Far Gone is my real favorite--uh, no wait a minute--For the Moon! That's it! Now it's Sorry--cool! Uh, wait a minute, I'm listening to Disturbing Behavior agin--OK that's the one. That's my favorite. Um...did I mention Too Far Gone? They are ALL great, Paulina! Wonderful job! Now, if I could just get the boss to take a minute away from recording Spanish educational songs. He's under a crunch deadline, but will back soon. Great job! Can't wait for the album. :-) (NT) -- Lynn, 19:49:08 06/09/07 Sat
- Happy Father's Day--and ugh, moving is such a pain! -- Lynn, 07:09:06 06/17/07 Sun [7]
First of all, Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! DaxDad and I are being taken to lunch by the boss & his wife-to-be after church today. I'm sure there's also a call for JillDad coming later today from Seattle. We'll make sure he has a fun day. :-) He's been working SO hard lately, he sure deserves it!
Have any of you done a cross-country move before? Or any kind of long distance move? Oh yeah, also add three geriatric pets to the move mix! Another fun little twist is having a house on the market at the same time, trying to keep it looking tidy while packing, and then leaving at a moment's notice (taking the dog) for the realtor to show the house to prospective buyers. That happened twice this week.
We're worn out already and our move date is still two weeks away! Seems like we have quite a bit of packing to do, but it's mostly stuff we're using on a daily basis, so we can't really pack it yet. We're having a big garage sale this weekend, and whatever doesn't sell will be donated or thrown away. It's "clean sweep" time!
The movers are loading us up Monday July 2, and we're hitting the road the next day with Lucia in the back seat for our 3800 mile road trip. I'm sure we'll be REALLY well rested before starting that week-long trip! :-P Dax & Melissa will be flying out a few weeks later, and bringing our two 18-year-old cats with them. That should be an interesting trip too! Dax & Melissa will be house-hunting in the Seattle area, as well as seeing our place for the first time, and visiting with family and friends out there.
Just think, one month from today we'll be showing Dax & Melissa around our new hometown in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! We can't wait! As a matter of fact, that's what we're focusing on now to get us through the next few weeks of stress!
After we get settled in and get the computers hooked up, I'll post some pics of our trip.

Lou Pearlman Taken Into Custody In Indonesia
Thursday, June 14, 2007 10:39:30 AM
Orlando music mogul Lou Pearlman is in custody.
The U.S. Attorneys Office in Tampa confirmed Pearlman was arrested by the FBI Thursday morning in Indonesia.
Pearlman was thought to be in Germany when federal investigators began to link him to several cases of bank fraud. He is being transferred to Guam to report before a federal judge.
Pearlman has been involved in a number of legal battles.
On Tuesday, thousands of items that once belonged to Pearlman were auctioned off in an effort to raise money toward the millions of dollars in debt claimed by a number of banks and individual investors. Initial numbers showed the auction brought in approximately $200,000.

Did you know that today is the finals at Dancing with the Stars?! Yes!
It's gonna be the very nerve-wrecking for us all, at the same time we're rooting up for Joey Fatone! Last Tuesday night when the announcer said "Joey's safe", we all were so relieved. It was craziest! That was because he hit bottom two two weeks ago that had us all so upset.
I'm seeing more & more posts are being scattered all over asking & reminding everyone to vote online and phone calls to help Joey win that mirror ball trophy today.
Be sure to vote! I'm voting before I go out to work tonight.
Go Team Fatone!!!
