A child's vocabulary is built from the home environment first. Listen to how children speak and you can know what goes on at home.

Children imitate what they see at home. Look at the behavior of children and you can guess what home life is.

When an infant or toddler doesn't get what it wants it will tend to cry. Ignoring this behavior lets the child develop anger, feeling deprived for no reason. Giving in and giving the child anything it wants teaches that tantrums pay off. These children become adults who become successful inmates or politicians. One way or another they get what they want in any case.

Children need structure, parameters, boundaries. They need examples of creative time useage. They need continuity and stability. They need these things BEFORE they get to school. They also need to learn respect of others, usually parents first. They usually learn this from parental example. Disrespectful parents teach disrespectful children. Foul mouthed parents teach foul mouthed children.

So children who break park benches, spray paint on public buildings, throw garbage on the streets, beat up strangers, steal or rob got their basic training from where?

They have a lot of energy to devote to violence. Why not to cleaning their neighborhood? Where do children learn that garbage on the street is the better way? Where do they learn that Night Train is better grape juice than Welch's?
