Subject: RE: Euthanasia

A doctor alleged Wednesday that Pope John Paul II violated Catholic teaching against euthanasia by refusing medical care that would have kept him alive longer — a charge immediately dismissed by Vatican official.

I'm not sure that I believe this charge, but more to the point...what do you folks think abt the subject of euthanasia. Its a tough one, isnt it?

Take care, God Bless,

Phil from AZ

But I agree w/ the decision (that I think they made) to let nature take its course. I have no complaints about how the pope chose to die, if it was his decision. And I have no complaints about how it was handled by others, if it wasn't his decision.

I'm against euthanasia, but the definition I use might not be someone else's. IMO, allowing nature to take its course isn't an "act" of euthanasia.

I read that about Pope John Paul II in the paper this morning. Never would he have chosen euthanasia, since it is against the teachings of the church.

However, the only person to know the truth about this is the pope's private secretary, Cardinal Dziwisz.

You cannot trust what the doctors who attended the pope might say.
