No, but we used to when I was a kid, as I was raised Catholic. We also ate fish on Friday's, etc. Remember those days?
Take care, God Bless,

Your subject like was intriquing. I didn't have donuts, but I ate like a pig all night at work (Monday night into Tuesday AM).
So it's fasting time today. We're having baked fish for supper. What are you having?

I'm making Salmon for my mom. I'll make Mac and Cheese for myself. At the moment I only have Salmon in the house. I really don't like it . Tomorrow I'll buy some Haddock, or Orange Roughy to have on hand for the Friday's during lent.

Donuts -- Catie, 17:29:14 02/07/08 Thu [1] (h78.134.141.67.ip.alltel.net/67.141.134.78)
Do y'all have Krispy Kreme donuts where you are? Once upon a time they were found only in the south and then they ventured out further. If you've never eaten one then you've never really had a doughnut. WOW. Their factory is about 30 min from my house! I hate to go by there while they're baking them. My car has a mind of its own and turns right into their parking lot. But I'm always in good company. You should see the cars pile into that lil ole parking lot when they are baking em. Mercy, I like em a lot but they are sooooo fattening. Whew. I just gained 2lbs talking about em.

We had KK for a short while. -- Joan, 04:54:35 02/08/08 Fri [1] (ip68-0-253-131.ri.ri.cox.net/68.0.253.131)
We have Dunkin Donuts here--started in MA--and so KK never really caught on. There was one store, and they sold them in the markets and convenience stores.
I guess people in RI like DD better than KK. At any rate, KK only lasted here for 2 or 3 years.

Only sold in convenience stores where I live..... -- Neysa, 14:33:56 02/08/08 Fri [1] (user-38lciap.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.73.89)
I liked them better than Dunkin Donuts. Now we only have DD here. I mostly go DD for the Egg Mcmuffin, it's better than McDonalds.

Yeah, Dunkin Donuts are great too. KK were best eaten fresh and hot. When they -- catie, 15:12:28 02/08/08 Fri [1] (h78.134.141.67.ip.alltel.net/67.141.134.78)
arrive in stores here sometimes they are still warm.

So much for giving up junk food for lent....... -- Neysa, 22:29:47 02/08/08 Fri [1] (user-38lci42.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.72.130)
All this talk about donuts was just too much for me and I caved in, and ended up at Dunkin Donuts this evening. If you gave in like I did. Try the Milky Way hot chocolate it is delicious.
I also didn't fast today for supper. But, yesterday when I was out to eat I thought it was Friday ,and had fish. I had fish twice this week, Monday and yesterday. That is way too much fish for me!!!
Also, this wasn't asked....did any of you attend an Ash Wednesday Service at your church?
The last time I attended to get ashes on my forhead was about four years ago.

It's not a sin if you honestly forget to abstain from meat. If I forget, I make up for it in some other way. That way I don't feel guilty. :)
Bob went to the 10 AM Mass on Ash Wednesday, and I went to the 5 PM.

Question...... -- Neysa, 15:51:14 02/09/08 Sat [1] (user-38lcibg.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.73.112)
If I forget, I usually fast on another day.
I always thought that when you can't eat meat on Friday's during lent it meant all types of meat. Chicken, pork, veal, lamb chops, etc.... I was reading something yesterday it only mentioned red meat during lent. I sit only red meat that Catholics cannot eat, or all types of meat?

I thought it was all meat. I'll see if I can find anything. -- Joan, 04:43:45 02/10/08 Sun [1] (ip68-0-253-131.ri.ri.cox.net/68.0.253.131)
