I don't think it really matters that the child is a citizen. We don't need to change the law, because the parents are never forbidden to take the children w/ them.

But maybe I don't know all the facts, now that I've opened my big mouth. :-)

Will Mexico allow a non-citizen to live w/ a citizen parent? Are children of Mexican citizens considered citizens wherever they're born?

Either way, it's the parents' choice to illegally cross the border to have a baby here. They do that because they think they'll be able to stay if their kids are citizens. That should never be allowed.

And if the parent is deported, who do you think picks up the tab to care for that child left behind? Because our son in law is self-employeed,(family business) and the dentist our daugher works for doesn't offer insurance, it cost our daughter and son in law a small fortune just to have some medical attention for Makayla. Nobody is paying it for them!

Some folks will risk coming here just to have a baby not only in hopes of remaining, but to have free/better medical care. Except it's not free when the taxpayers are being squeezed!

not even legal resident aliens can recieve benefits unless they are a citizen. I had a friend who was legal resident and needed assistance and they would not give it to her because she was not a citizen. They gave benefits to her children because they were, but not to her. So what the illegals are doing are getting assistance for their children, but not themselves. I think with the immigration laws gettin tougher, things around here will change. One can hope for a miracle. Mike and Debbie are also facing the same challenges with insurance for Kimmy and Mikey. It's just not fair.
