Joan, I'm not sure but I think maybe its source comes from Calvinistic teaching of predestination. ??? (But don't quote me on that.) Do you know any info about it?

Nothing. It's about God's covenant(s) with people. That's all I know. I was hoping someone here could fill me in.

I'll do a search. If anything short and understandable comes up, I'll post it here.

That's what a lot of the old scriptures are about, God's covenant with man. Covenants abound, they're with Adam, Noah, Abraham, David, ...then the new covenant was established in the new testament. I thought you were meaning there is a specific religious group that goes by that name. I know only a bit about the Calvinistic teachings though.

There's a short paragraph at the top, and there's a longer entry that follows.

Pretty interesting.

I guess I should read it more carefully and in depth but from what you posted and what I read, I don't have a problem with it. Does your church lean toward that or is in the group that criticizes the teaching?

I honestly have no idea. It's not a strong theme, so I'm guessing that our pastor isn't big on it.

I think this is more for the theologians than it is for the parish priests and parishoners.
