After my dear dad passed away in 1993, Ian and I took a trip to Britain a few months later. As never before, I sincerely felt as though I had a guardian Angel sitting on my shoulder the entire time and it gave me such a sense of peace and calm that I can never explain away. I don't know how such things work, but I believe my dad had something to do with it! :-)

[> [> [> Barb, do you think perhaps it was your dad there with you ? -- Neysa, 14:16:58 08/02/07 Thu [1] (user-38lci0s.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.72.28)

My dad died in 1995. When my mom and I would travel, sometimes I felt as if someone else was with us. I often wondered if it was my dad that I was feeling.

Two strange experiences after my dad died. My dad died in October. A few months later, in April, on the night of my parents wedding anniversary. My mom was sleeping in their bedroom with our dog. My mom called out for me. When I walked in the room. Our dog was sitting on the end of the bed. Frisky, was looking up and whimpering. I called to Frisky, even went over to him, but he ignored me as if I was not there. Then, Frisky, got up and started licking as if he was licking someone. Then, he rolled over on his back as he always did when he was being rubbed on his belly. The way he was acting, is the way he acted around my dad. Then, Frisky, jumped off the bed, and went down the hall wagging his tail. Frisky, did that if he thought he was going somewhere with us. Then, he came back in the bedroom jumped on the bed and pouted just like he did when being told he couldn't come with us.

I really believe that it was my dad just coming for a visit.

Another time shortly after my dad died. My mom and I walked into a restaurant. When we walked in there was no else in the lobby, or behind, or in front of us. The hostess said three of you. I said no, there are only two of us. The hostess turned white, and she looked scared, and as if she might faint. I turned around and there was still no one else behind us, or in the lobby. I really wanted to ask her what the third person she thought she saw with us looked like. But, when we got to the table. She was shaking, and could hardly speak. I was always a bit bewildered about it. But, deep down I felt it was my dad.

and I have heard other stories that MUST make us think 2ce before brushing things off as alot of hooey. I have heard that our Angels are not those we have known in life, but I truly, truly believe that in my situation it was my own dad who was guarding me! I could feel his presence, his light! :-)

Do you believe we all have more than one angel as our guardian ?

I always thought we only had one.

I guess we're supposed to have only one, though.

Do you think about angels often? The thought really never crosses my mind.

I don't pray to them either. I do believe we all have a guardian angel. I also don't pray to my guardian angel.

Absolutely! Scripture confirms that. Also I believe angels come to earth and take on a human form, to help us when we are in need, but we are rarely aware of it. Believe me or not, I had an encounter with an angel once.

It was very personal yes, but an experience I don't mind sharing at all. Although the bible plainly says we often encounter angels here on earth, without being aware of it, some will choose not to believe. Sadly, doubt is the way of the world. Fortunately, I was not alone in my experience. It involved me and two other ladies. Please remind me, when I am thinking clearly and free of all these drugs and I will email you my experience. :)

[> [> [> It was a dark and storm night -- Catie, 13:07:41 08/04/07 Sat [1] (h166.243.213.151.ip.alltel.net/151.213.243.166)

lol...No joke. It really was.

I was 19 years old and home for a week from college. I had been at a youth service at our church and left with my aunt and my cousin, aged 15 at the time. The sky grew dark because of the hour, but just as we were leaving service a storm blew in and it became very dark. The storm grew worse as we drove toward home. The trip to their house was about a 20 minute drive, requiring travel north on interstate 75. We exited onto the ramp to get on the interstate. (Just before merging onto traffic there was a very small section of shoulder, then a bridge, which meant no place to go after merging, except directly into flowing traffic) It was so dark, the rain was torrential and sounded horrific from inside the car. My aunt was driving and about to merge into traffic when we heard a odd sound, then a *Boom* The tire blew out. She just barely managed to steer the car to that little section of shoulder. We were in a very dangerous spot. The bridge lay just ahead of us. The sounds of the cars zooming by at 70 mph, and the lights of all the traffic made the situation even more disturbing. Our car actually swayed as cars passed us. This was before cell phones. There we were, three females, stuck late at night in the storm on the side of the interstate. We knew a tire probably had blown out and what could we do? My aunts car was fairly new but her flashers didn't work that night!! Scared is what we were. She said, let's pray. Her prayer was simple but sincere, I will never forget it...she said "Lord, we are in your hands, give your angels charge of us to protect us tonight and send help in your own divine way." -- It was so simple.

She had just finished saying that prayer- when as we all were saying "amen" there was a knock at my window. There stood a very tall man, with an umbrella, dressed neatly, asking if he could help. (My side was away from the traffic) I was very cautious. I rolled the window only partly down. I asked if he would go to the next exit and call my uncle to come and get us. He smiled and said he would do that but if we would trust him he would help us. Would my aunt give him the keys to check for a spare tire? She took the keys from the ignition, handed them to me and I to him. He said for us to sit tight and stay dry , he would take care of it for us. He went behind the car. We in the car looked at each other. We said "Thank God, he heard our prayer". We sat there a minute and suddenly it stopped raining. We all got out, because it was safer on the grass than sitting so close to traffic. By the time we reached the back of the car he was putting athe last lug nut on the tire. No kidding! We told him we had just prayed for God to send help and he were sure glad he did. He smiled, replied and said rather sweetly, " Yes, I know" I remember his kind smile. I remember he was tall too. I mostly recall how calm we felt while he was there. He told us all was fixed, then he walked us to the car, placed us inside, told us we would be fine. My aunt offered to pay him. He replied somethng like "No need for that, good deeds have their own reward" Honestly I don't remember word for word, although it was something to that effect. My aunt or cousin can't recall the exact words now either. We were in awe of the situation because all of this happened so fast. We buckled up, waited for his car to merge ahead of us before pulling out. We looked in the rear but didn't see him or his car. He simply disappeared. We had such a calm and peace, the three of us. We looked at each other and my cousin asked, "Where did he go?" My aunt laughed and said I think we know where he went. We all agreed he was an angel. You will never convince me otherwise. We got home safe and sound that night. I opened my bible to the scripture: Hebrews 13:2: Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.

I really believe in angels and that they help us. I loved watching that program about angels that Richard Thomas, hosted. I can't think of the name of the program.

There is a story I'll tell you later about a friend of mine.

Never fails, usually it takes my mom a few hours to get ready. I figured I'ld take this time to come on the forum. But, she got ready quickly today, and just informed me she is ready to go to town.

[> An experience my friend had -- Neysa, 23:16:08 08/03/07 Fri [1] (user-38lcic7.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.73.135)

when she was twelve years old. She went into her living room. The TV was not on, neither was a radio or stereo. Just as she sat down she heard a voice call her name. She looked up and coming through the ceiling were hands. They were open with the palms facing her. Then as the voice spoke the hands clasped together ( like praying hands ). The voice said " Coleen, I will be taking your grandmother with me. Do not be sad." Then the hands disappeared. Coleen, told me that the hands had a bright glow. But, there is nothing here to compare the glow to. She said the voice did not say who it was. She also could not tell if the hands were male or female. She also could not tell if the voice was male or female.

Coleen, is an only child. Her dad was at work. She and her mom were the only ones home. She ran into the kitchen to tell her mom. They both went next door where her grandmother lived. They found her grandmother dead. Her grandmother was in good health.

[> An experience I had -- Neysa, 00:00:21 08/04/07 Sat [1] (user-38lcic7.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.73.135)

When I was thirteen. My cousin who lives in Connecticut was expecting her first child. One night I had a terrible dream. She had a boy it had a head full of brown hair. As I was holding the baby. A man approached me. He was tall with curly shoulder brown hair, and was clean shaven. He said he was an angel ( no wings) and had to take the baby with him. As he took the baby, I tried to get the baby back, and pleaded with him. He just kept saying that the baby would be safe with him.

I was staying with my mom's oldest sister at the time for the entire month of June. When I called my mom the next day. I insisted she call my cousin and warn her. But my mom, and aunt said it was just a bad dream. It would only upset my cousin. Two months later my cousin had a boy with brown hair. He was stillborn. I always felt bad because if I could have warned her she might have been able to save her baby.

She now has three other children. They could have also died, but luckily they found out what my cousins problem was.

my Grandmother said to me long ago, sometime after I told her I didn't want an angel coming to see ME!! lol (I was about 12 when I said that) She told me matter of factly, "If ever an angel does come to you, be certain it will be for a specific purpose, so don't be afraid." I can imagine your grandmother died with a great peace Neysa. I am also happy to know your cousin went on to have healthy children. :)
