How do you pray? Do you say mostly prayers like the Hail Mary and the Our Father?

I say both.

In prayer, do you petition God for help or thank God more often?

I'm usually petitioning for help--mostly when my son in driving. And I'm guilty of not saying a quick prayer of thanks when he gets home.

Is meditative prayer more your style? The rosary?

I like the rosary, but I haven't been doing it lately.

What time of day are you most likely to pray?

Evenings.

Since you put in the "Hail Mary" I thought perhaps you meant this question for Catholics only. But I am happy to add my 2 cents if you are interested.

Jesus gave an example of how to pray. When I read that scripture however, I don't take it that I am to pray the exact prayer. I do incorporate a lot of that same message into my prayers, ie acknowlege God as my father, that he is sacred and hallowed, I ask for forgiveness of sin in my life, I thank him for all the blessings and acknowledge his power working in my life. I make petitions accordingly. When I come across a prayer request, I generally stop right that minute and pray on behalf of that person's petition right then. My most private time is when the house is quiet and I'm alone which is morning time. I can study the Bible best then too. Throughout the day I am constantly sending up little 'telegrams', quick prayers, asking God on behalf of someone or something. I am ever conscious of God's presence. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I don't sin, but I'm simply conscious of God's presence surrounding me, ever with me, it keeps me humble and reminds me of how important I am to God as are all of his children. I am always keeping my "phone line" clear in case I need to get a big prayer through really fast. :)

I hope it was okay to add an answer here.
