I was baptized as an infant, so no conversion story here.

But we do have Catholic education in common this year. This fall, as you're starting your RCIA classes, I'll be taking on a Catechism class on my own. I've helped out for 2 years, so I guess it's time to try it on my own.

Can I ask if there is one thing that brought you to the Catholic Church?

BTW, I agree with you on science and religion. Science isn't evil, and religion isn't naive. There's no reason the two can't be compatible.

Joan

As silly as it may seem, a news article I read about Pope Benedict in February 2006 got my attention and I began to look into the Catholic Church. I should have printed it out, but I didn't know what kind of impact it was going to have at the time. It basically said what I mentioned earlier, that science and faith were not opposing forces because both were created by God. There was much more to it than that, but I don't remember the details.

That article was the hook. I have learned a lot more about the church since then. I particularly like the communion of Saints and the devotion to Mary. I feel like with the saints and with Mary there is someone else pulling for me. I like the idea that there is someone there to intercede for me.
