Subject: Drivers' Ten Commandments

Apparently there is some controversy about the commandments--some ridicule.

Typical. People don't like to be told that what they do every day is wrong.

I think the 10 commandments make sense, unless you're in NYC, in which case it's no holds barred. :-)

'Drivers' Ten Commandments'

The "Drivers' Ten Commandments," as listed by the document, are:

1. You shall not kill.

2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.

3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.

4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.

5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.

6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.

7. Support the families of accident victims.

8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.

9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.

10. Feel responsible toward others.

I have a bad temper. Just this evening I was at a four way stop. It was my turn to go, as I started to go this man at the other stop sign also started to go. He almost hit into me. I started cursing ####! At that moment I thought about the new drivers' ten commandments put out by the Vatican! Then I thought to myself okay calm down!!!

The commandments also should have included no talking on your cell phone while driving, no eating, applying makeup, reading, no combing your hair, etc.... Last week on the news, I don't remember what state it was in. A cop stopped this car on the highway. He thought the driver was drunk. When the cop went up to the car the man who was driving, and the woman passenger who was sitting on the mans' lap were both naked. The man told the cop that they were trying to have sex. ( The Vatican should have included that, no sex while driving). LOL

I must admit that I thought it a bit absurd for the Vatican to list as the number one rule " You shall not kill". That is already in the ten commandments that were given to Moses.
