Giving general anesthesia for fixing orthodontic braces, and even for applying braces for the first time, is highly unusual. I can firmly conclude that They gave you anesthesia so that somebody could perform endoscopic examinations in your urinary system, genitals and lower digestive system. This is not the first time I have seen this reported.

It does not seem that the decreased excitement of your brother is anything more that an effect of the medication to sleep better. But I think they performed an urological examination on him during the stay in sleep lab.

I also think that the project had already chosen you as objects for their work, and what told here is the first initial steps, probably after consulting with the school and sport club and dance school.

Then they engaged this medical student to make you and your parents participate fully in their project.
