"Well... Before I got here, I was living in a town a few hours away, and I decided to leave because, um, things were getting kind of bad for me, and, you know, it was no longer a good place to live, so I bought a bus ticket here because I thought this town had a nice name. So then I was on a bus, and then I got off the bus and was here, and I walked down this street for a while until I saw this bench, and then I saw you. The end."

"Wow so you did, like, literally just get here." He'd been here for about one year, but to him it felt more as if he'd been here for seventy. Ezra found that he could sort of empathise with her, though- bad circumstances was exactly why he had moved to Cascade. However if he could've helped it he would have stayed in Israel. He then realised his reply hadn't been particularly, well, useful, or containing any sort of substance that could possibly contribute to the developement of this conversation. He was sort of curious as to what exactly had made her leave, but those sort of stuff always sounded terribly private and he felt awkward and intrusive asking people out about it. Still, where she was planning on staying? After all, by the sound of it she had literally just arrived.

Ezra was about to ask her something but she'd toppled over, and he laughed. Thank god she'd managed to keep the bottle upright with the skill and technique of a professional. "I'll have that, thank you." he briskly took the bottle from her hand and tossed his head back, pouring vodka down his throat as if it were water. Needless to say it tasted awful, but he was far too happy to care. Ezra sunk backwards lazily, he felt as though at any moment he could slide off the bench completely and just lie in a heap on the pavement. Oh dear, the doors and windows of the buildings (and indeed the buildings themselves) had already began to spin. Very slowly, but they were definitely moving.

"Your turn, go for it, if you can." with effort he turned sideways, opened her hand and placed the bottle back into her grasp, chuckling under his breath as he closed her hand around the bottle again as if this had been a rather tricky feat to accomplish. Darn it, it was. It was an achievement in itself that he hadn't dropped the bottle or gone toppling helplessly off the bench.
