Seth tucked his hands into the pockets of his jacket, hunching his shoulders against the light rain. He was soaked, wild hair all but plastered to his head, shirt and jeans clammy and still sticking to his muscular body. Long legs carried him easily across the lot, boots crunching on the wet gravel. He didn't want to deal with work today, didn't want to sit at his desk and drive from one end of town to the other. Honestly he wanted nothing more than to fall into his bed, completely shitfaced and pass out for about a week.
But as that wasn't in his near future, he sucked it up and shouldered the front door open. His icy gaze flicked to the person nearly blocking his path, his gaze hard and cold as it slid up her frame. Bare, slender feet. Well shaped legs that slid seamlessly into a skirt that hugged tightly to flaring hips. Pale pink shirt hinted at a slim waist but had no chance of hiding a pair of lovely, pert breasts. That icy gaze locked with orbs of whiskey, shock lighting that hard gaze as he realized what was standing before him. Who was standing before him.
He stood there for a good ten seconds, just staring at her. He wasn't even sure he blinked in that time. Finally he shifted, blinking several times as his brain began to work again. His voice was rough when he spoke, gravely and confused "I watched your plane leave... " Hell, he watched half that airport take off. How was she here? Why was she here?
I'm not strong enough to stay away Can't run from you I just run back to you Like a moth I'm drawn in to your flame Say my name, but it's not the same You look in my eyes I'm stripped of my pride And my soul surrenders and you bring my heart to its knees
And it's killin' me when you're away, I wanna leave and I wanna stay I'm so confused,So hard to choose Between the pleasure and the pain And I know it's wrong, and I know it's right Even if I try to win the fight, my heart would overrule my mind And I'm not strong enough to stay away |
