Maxxy used a high pick for English... 2 years later he's doggies #1 and slots into the SL's best team perfectly... now Maxxy has a ruckman locked in for 90-120pts every week for 10 years. Done. Easy as that.

Ox has taken a few KPP high in the draft last year, short term, like maxxy, he may struggle (actually maxxy never struggles)... but all goes well - Ox will have some good security/numbers coming in from his big men.

Admittedly - I have spent majority of my early picks on mids, they score better right? IF THEY EVER MAKE IT... Ainsworth / Dow / Bowes / Stephens / Bonar / Walsh / Venebles / Hopper / Matheison / McHenry... of that list I have 4 guys who I can get 100 out of (once a month, the best of em avg 85)... an absolute waste of top picks... meanwhile I still have Jonas / Jones / McCarthy (always inj) in my 22 - could have easily had the best talls going round.

It is what it is, you need to invest in talls, which costs higher picks and ofcours TIME... but they are often more fruitful than mids who grow on trees and can come from picks in the 30s (Worpel).

I like that they cost a little more. So be it, that coach has held onto the guy for years... It took 5 years of O'Brien sitting in whippets ressies not playing, but now I have a very solid ruckman who would cost a hell of a lot to buy from me (far too invested).

We'll get there... and to be honest, the penalty for lack of ruck depth is actually not too bad... you still have 21 players to get a best 18 out of. You can play no KPFs and KPDs - have only 1 big man in the ruck and you will still have a best 18 to compete with your SL opponants best 18. So if you have lack of depth in a TALL department and are struck by injury - yes, bad luck (i've been there), but you are not hampered greatly. I'm in other leagues where you get killed for having a donut - very hard to win with a 0.

I can see a few talls on the FA pile, MSD coming up, maybe they are hot property with some early picks? ...
