The opportunity for conversation had struck Lyla with a particular interest. She tucked the cord ribbed Ipod into her book and set it down out of the way. She let her amber eyes drift over the female with some attention to detail as Silver’s eyes were averted away. Now that she was closer, Lyla could smell the feline on her. Her nose would have wrinkled up with interest if Lyla hadn’t devoted years to keeping her face expressionless. So the blonde was a shifter. Lyla studied her for threats but found none. She then checked to see if the scent of Verda, the pack leader, clung to the blonde’s frame. Again, Lyla came up empty. So she wasn’t threatening but she wasn’t accepted either. Lyla was in unfamiliar territory. The eyes of the cat female fell on her and Lyla straightened physically, realizing she’d been asked a question. “oh..I’m Lyla. Lyla Jones. I live here with the pack of shifters.” Well, maybe she shouldn’t have mentioned them. Well, surely she’d smelled them. The debate was on going in her head. “Who are you?” She indicated to the bench so the cat could sit. “You’re some kind of feline, right?”
