Subject: All MVA (besides the goofy name) was made for crown chasers to have another chance at a crown. It’s a total money maker for this Alison person. (Does she know it’s 2023)???

Women who still wanted to compete and serve. It is wonderful to see MA back on track with Robin, but there is more than enough room for both systems. Why would anyone disparage anything that adds more opportunities for women?

I love the opportunities afforded by MVA and the people who work hard to provide these opportunities. My point is that the branding is not lining up with the product. The scoring and the SERVE acronym suggest that to be the representative you check the boxes in ALL of the categories. The scholarship package is great but it's really winner take all. I would suggest that at least $10,000 of the winner's earnings could be added to the other top five or ten finalists..$30-$40k for a winner's scholarship would still be very attractive and the runner-up scholarships would also attract competitors and build the program across many states. We all know it takes money to make a scholarship pageant successful. It's talent and platform that gives a winner traction to build up scholarship funds. A lot of social media followers are great for attention and may attract competitors but that doesn't really monetize for scholarships. There were at least two competitors this season who proved that they had a marketing plan with their talent and platform that brought in local and state scholarship funds. These were also beautiful and talented competitors. These were in line with the competencies given for interview and if given the opportunity could have bolstered the MVA brand.

She also worked full time while being the state titleholder and still traveled the state with their safe driving campaign. She's made appearances such as American Idol homecoming, American Heart events, and dozens of others. Seems like she has done a great job! The followers and her viewing is just a bonus!

I think every brand needs to figure out who they are. I think MVA already has a good idea of who they are but there are practical ways in which you build the program, and that needs to be the focus right now. Interestingly, except for a fitness attire sponsor it seems like MVA has some great sponsors already set up. Sherri Hill is working with them and she's giving the winner a week at fashion week. How awesome is that?

I think because it is still a very young program, you are going to see different kinds of contestants win. And you look at MAO and USA and they all go through stages. MAO was nothing but interview queens and they still kind of are. USA went the way of crowning MAO like winners and now their pageants are filled with contestants telling us how they want to change the world. USA and Universe. I think the challenge right now is exactly what you say it is-the pageant itself seems to be for a well-rounded winner. I think Alexa was, at least. I think that the next few winners are going to help determine the identity of this pageant and how it is seen going forward. The problem is that if you get a panel of judges who fall in love with a contestant like they did with MS who had little talent, it may not reflect the values of the program, it just reflects the judges preference. So, that is going to be another challenge. Remember back when they had that reality series on TLC when those show judges all but begged the MAO to make it young and modern and they chose Kirsten Haglund? She was young but definitely not the kind of contestant they wanted to see. They wanted young and exciting, not a Senator's wife. They tried to give the contestants free makeovers and everything, and it still did not work. So, I think having a good brand is still going to be necessary going forward. This way, if you get less than what you are asking for the contestants still understand what they need to do in order to succeed.

I was disappointed with the outcome but not the pageant itself. There is still room for pageants like MVA and after 2 short years it has been built into a bona fide national pageant. The winner got a $50k scholarship, same as MAO, and a whole lot of other opportunities in the music business. Who wouldn't want that if they are pursuing a music career? Both winners have been dancers and they will not use them, but eventually a singer will win and have a tremendous opportunity. They also aligned themselves with St. Jude's, a well-respected charity which will be a win for both organizations. Each system has their good and bad and I do not think MVA should be condemned. It is a classic pageant system for contestants who want to compete in a classic pageant. Nothing wrong with that.

[> [> [> Subject: Oh they will uses their dancer queens!! Did you not see how much the outgoing queen danced on stage, opening number, with the princesses, her own spotlight, the finale! They used her a lot and she seemed to love it! I loved it. In two years this pageant has become my favorite! glamorous, beautiful stage and set design, orchetra, scholarships, no ted talks and pretty gowns and wonderfu and tastful SS competition. They embraced all that MAO tried to diss.

[> [> [> [> Subject: I was the one who posted this-I meant that the dancers are not going to use the opportunity to meet with music executives. The dancers and how much Alexa was featured was a real plus for me this week. It's one of the things I like. I think the outgoing titleholder SHOULD have a major part in the production all week. After all they did all year, I hate when all they get is a final walk squeezed into the show when it takes a half an hour to announce the top 15. Alexa was clearly talented and it was nice to see that all week.
