I never said you would be. Ever the gentleman, Ashertith agreed with the green. I look forward to trying. His meat finished, he licked the bottom of the bucket and looked over at another, smaller one. Maybe just a few more mouthfuls of this food wouldn�t hurt him�

M�att broke away, shaking his head. Why wouldn�t she tell him?

Why should she? A small part of him asked. What good will it do her if you know? How would it make a difference to your relationship? He ran a hand through his thick blond hair, trying to work it out. Ashertith was sneaking his brown head into another bucket of meat � should M�att let him? Was it right to let him eat that much? Or was it natural for the hatchling to be so hungry?

He turned back to Synthis. �That doesn�t matter! Please, Synthis, I�I have to know. Even if I can�t help � and I think I can � then surely it would be good to just tell someone?�
