I would say that most people have a "Love/Hate" relationship with spanking. Especially those on the receiving end. I know I did from the time I was a kid. I can't say I enjoyed getting my bare butt spanked as a kid, but I will admit I enjoyed watching the spankings others got and eventually would become aroused by getting spanked. I think many people feel that way because spanking whether it's a punishment or playful is a very intimate act.

I often wonder when i see a spanking scene in a movie or tv show that has a spanking scene in it, How the person on the receiving end whether an adult or child felt about getting spanked on camera especially if it involves a bare bottom spanking. Maureen O Sullivan spoke of the spanking she got from John Wayne in McClintok as very painful and that it left her bruised for days. The same with Jenny Maxwell after Elvis spanked her in Blue Hawaii. Her reaction to the spanking she got on camera was very real. So you have to wonder how an actor or actress feels, knowing they are going to be spanked in a scene.

I think kids are surprisingly philosophical about spanking. That is how it was with me and the kids I talked to back in the day. Spanking was just part of the lot of being a kid. We knew why we got it, and moreover how to avoid them!!! Some of us even had a begrudging appreciation.

From comments I've read so far, I got the idea that a lot of people hated getting them. But started to appreciate them as adults, long after they stopped receiving them. What did a typical conversation about spanking look like then?
