Unlike most on this forum I did not grow up with spankings and I've never received a spanking in my life. Despite this I have become a firm believer that good old fashioned bare bottom spankings are the best way to discipline naughty kids. Now I soundly spank the bare bottoms of both of my children whenever they misbehave and I wish my parents gave us the same treatment.

It is a real pity that my parents did not raise me and my siblings with spankings. Not only would our behavior and work ethic have dramatically improved but day to day life would have been so much easier for our parents. If we were spanked growing up, I never would have been ignorant about the effectiveness of spanking and would have started spanking my kids years ago instead of just a couple months ago.

Spanking has also been surprisingly great for bonding with my kids. We feel as tightly bonded now as I can ever remember and I lament that this bonding opportunity never got to happen with my parents. I wish I got to bond with my mother sitting on her lap and cuddling after a well deserved good hard spanking.

It's also a bit awkward being a never-spanked spanker as I don't really know for sure what it's like to be on the receiving end of these punishments. Even though spankings are self-evidently great for shaping my kids conduct and attitude, I wish I had my own memories of it so I could relate to it a bit better. Regardless I am determined to do what's best for my kids and I'm not gonna let my less-than-ideal upbringing be an excuse against giving my kids the sound spankings they clearly need.
