In reply to: Nerilki (Avianyth) 's message, "The world is quiet here" on 09:33:40 05/15/05 Sun

Tathan nodded at Nerilki’s words, watching Avianyth rather apprehensively for a moment when she moved – he had been told when he moved here that dragons would never harm human beings, but they were so big – how would they be able to tell? He had never seen one close up before he came to New Isle…he knew they were intelligent, but how could they be? They were animals, weren’t they? And no animals could be like humans…

An outsider would see that he had yet to meet dolphins and see the intellect of a dragon, but Tath assumed he was perfectly reasonable. After all, dragons couldn’t talk, could they? Not words. He didn’t know how riders communicated with their dragons, but he had never heard a dragon speak. So that meant that they didn’t…did it? It was beyond Tathan.

“I’ll get it fixed or something, miss.” He told her, bending to pick up the other scraps of wool. Really, there didn’t seem to be much one could do with it…but maybe the wool could be re-used? Waste not want not, as his mother would have said…or maybe he could sew it back together. He couldn’t sew very well, but he did do straight lines. And darning…

((What would we do without them?))
