As I said I like to explore the different surfaces and temperatures together with my daughter so when I'm out with her I will go barefoot as well. As it's been pointed out in another contribution the temperature perception between adults and children is different and it might well be that you actually have it easier adapting to the cold when you're younger ... so I prefer some parents prefer to keep on their cozy warm winter boots as they sit and watch their kids run around barefoot in the snow, but in our case ... I'm actually looking forward to experiencing the falling temperatures in autumn together with Rita. It shouldn't be a competition for who can hold up longer, but it's more of a precaution, perception of coldness can be tricky with nerves going numb. Who knows, maybe I manage to improve my own circulation at the same rate as winter approaches?

It's not a worry though in these summer days. And luckily the roads also don't get burning hot. I especially like going out with my girl in the evening before her bedtime when we can both feel the heat of the day still stored in the pavement as the air cools down while I hold her small hand. After that I help her clean her little milk teeth, wash the dust off her feet and send her to sleep with a hug and a kiss.
