I ask them regularly (whenever it gets colder) and they say they are perfectly fine. It might be that we really only get deep frost in the new year so we all agreed it's not time to get shoes yet.
Yes, they all want to go out and experience winter even if it should get too cold for bare hands and feet, so that's what I would get them gloves and shoes for, just in case. It's all up to them, I actually find it cute to see my kids bundled up in warm clothes to the ankles with glowing pink bare feet standing out to leave cute tracks in the snow (while I wear my winter boots). I'll carefully check all their toes though, once back home, to make sure there's no frost blisters, chilblains or the like, they all know about the risks of frost and I trust them to take care of themselves.

It's great to see there are other children actually having fun going out barefoot when it's cold. My daughter is 11 and my sons are 9 and 13 years old, they have spent all their summers barefoot but used to wear boots in past winters. How old are your children?
