I have a 6400 board (200 Mhz) installed in my colour classic. I have the same power-down problem. My machine has an IDE drive in it with OS 8.6 and 40 MB RAM. If there is a SCSI issue maybe its because its not terminated properly? (A guess) If I put the 5200 board back in I can fire it up just fine. I have not tried resetting the board and remove the battery but I do not think that would solve the problem.
