We’ve never done public spankings but have done some semi public. Here are a few examples.

When my middle son, now 8, was 4 we went to Florida for a beach vacation. One day while on the beach he kept bothering my youngest son who was about 1 at time. He was throwing sand at him, taking his toys, dumb big brother stuff. I gave him several stern warnings, placed him in timeout but nothing worked. I decided it was time for a spanking but our hotel wasn’t close by. So I tried to be as discreet as possible. I sat on the chaise lounge while my husband tried to block the view. I wrapped him in a hug and lowered his swim diaper. He was wearing only a Little Swimmer brand disposable swim diaper. Yes I know a 4 year old is too old but he had only been potty trained for about 8 months and still had the occasional accident, plus he looked very cute in them and didn’t mind wearing it. So back to the spanking. I straddled him between my legs, while hugging him with one arm. His swim diaper is down to the knees. I delivered a quick 6 slaps to the bare butt. I redress him and have him sit in timeout again, but now crying. When we got back to the hotel he got a proper spanking.

Last summer when my oldest was still 9 I spanked him at the park after soccer practice. At the end of practice we stay behind to help the coach pick up the balls and cones, and take down the nets. The 9 YO is kicking the ball around with the other boys, he decides to kick it as hard as possible, I mean drilled it, into my youngest son who was about 4 at the time. The 4 YO is now on the ground crying. I pick him up to comfort him and we order 9YO to run laps while we finish packing everything up. That’s not what led to the spanking. Accidents happen and growing kids forget how strong they are. I don’t think it was intentional. Here’s what led to the spanking. On the walk back to the van (4YO had stopped crying) the 9YO was mister pouty and grumpy. I get it was hot out and he was tired but I wasn’t in the mood. My husband watched the other two boys and I took 9 over to the restrooms. It was evening time in a small town park so nobody else was there. Inside I had him place his hands on the wall bending slightly. I lowered his shorts and underwear. WARNING this next part is gross. He was very sweaty and dirty. Grass stains on the knees, wet hair, wet shirt, wet shorts and skid marks in the undies. I toughen up and did my duty! Spent about 10 solid minutes working on his butt. When done his butt matched his red soccer shorts. He cried the whole way home. When we got home I gave him a bath (he can take his own but after seeing him I wanted to do it).

After writing this I realize why my 5 YO is so tough, he has two older brothers picking on him. LOL!
