In some more traditional families where the father is the head of the household it is not an issue. He administers all corporal discipline unless he specifically delegates the responsibility to his wife. But in other families there was a variety of views. Some think that daughters should be spanked by mothers and sons by dad. But the majority did not support that view and were quite comfortable with (or even in favour of)mother/son and father/daughter spankings. It was generally agreed that in families where one or other parent is more ready than the other to undertake the role then he or should be the prime disciplinarian. It was thought that it is confusing and unsatisfactory for a child to be spanked by a parent who is not wholeheartedly committed to the task. But the question was also raised of who should spank when both parents are equally keen on doing their duty. The majority thought that the simplest solution was the best: take it in turns. |

If my daughter needs to have a spanking we will sit down together and discuss her wrong doing and then we will reference different Bible verses from her Bible that fit her wrong doing. After we discuss this we will do a quick prayer and ask that she grows from this correction. We then move ahead with administering the punishment. |

Both of my boys had received new video games for Christmas. They were playing together all afternoon. It was getting close to dinner time when I went and told them to shut the game off and get ready for dinner. Fifteen minutes later I heard them still playing their game. Again, but with more mom stern voice, I said, boys i am not telling you again, shut the game off and get ready for dinner. This time I heard, OK Mom just one minute. Five minutes later I went to their room with paddle in hand and pulled the plug. They looked up at me and saw the paddle in my hand and my 17 yr old said, Mom we were almost finished with that game. I said to both of them, did I not tell you twice to shut the game off and get ready for dinner. They both looked at me and said yes. I told them both to get their pants and underwear off. Obediently they listened and removed their clothing. I did not lecture them to much as they know when they directly disobey me, it follows with a spanking. I spanked my 17 yr old first. I spanked with hand and paddle and he was sobbing by the time I finished. My 15 yr old received the same spanking and he to came off my knees sobbing. I sent them both to the corner. I went back to the kitchen where my oldest daughter, had our dinner on the table. Still hearing my boys sobbing, my daughters and I had our dinner. When we had finished dinner, I told my daughters before cleaning off the table, to fill the boys plates. I went back to their room where they had stopped crying, and told them both to get dressed. Once dressed, we knelt and prayed for forgiveness. I could tell by each of their forgiveness prayer, that they were sorry for disobeying me. I then told them to go and eat their dinner. All four of my teens know from when they were way younger, that I will not tolerate teasing anyone that was just spanked or standing in the corner. They all have been paddled for that. My 16 yr old daughter, was making fun of them, thinking I could not hear her. When I walked into the kitchen, the expression and look on here face, told her that I heard her teasing her brothers. We then went to her room, were she pleaded and begged not to be paddled. After she had removed her pants and underwear, she to received the same spanking that her brothers received. She also came off my knees sobbing. She spent thirty minutes in the corner to meditate on what she did and to calm herself down. We then knelt and she asked for forgiveness and was made to apologize to her brothers. The boys were told no more game playing for the rest of the night and my daughter was told to finish cleaning the kitchen by herself. |

We do the Santa thing, and the kids play along, we have tried to explain in a child like way how Santa is a symbol to represent giving gifts etc, but theyre still young I think my daughter gets it but not our little man. BUT we also have talked about the real reason for the season as it were. I just think Santa can sometime give a lil magic this time of year. We are trying to move them away from the Santa deal but its difficult. We have taken them to eat at a food bank/shelter last christmas season so theyd understand not everyone is so lucky as us. And we do try to get them excited and joyful about giving to others, like them picking out a toy for an unfortunate child. They seem to like that. Not to mention Santa inspires such naughty behavior in lineups in malls all over the world lol and can we fully blame them with how long they can be sometimes? (dont worry we dont allow tantrums in line lol) but can't parent everyone else's kiddos! |

Our church has one and it used for any parent who needs to spank their child/teen during the church service. Every Sunday you see at least two or three Parents walking down the aisle with child/teen in hand. Everyone knows exactly where they are going. Then a few minutes later they are walking back to their pew and you can tell the child/teen had been crying. It has been several years since I have had to take one of my kids to the spanking room. If I remember right, the last one was my oldest son when he was 13. There is a paddle hanging on the wall with bible verses on it. |

We've been kinda "church hopping" but the last three weeks we've begun to feel very comfortable at a small country non-denominational church. Conservative, friendly. One thing I noticed on the first Sunday we went there was a child taken out of service and then returned looking rather chastened. Found out fairly quickly that there's a small room just outside the sanctuary that's soundproofed and not just for crying babies. When we came back to it three weeks ago, that was part of the reason why. And this week, I made use of it for the first time. My middle child, Emily, got to take a little trip with mommy to that little room because she wouldn't sit still during prayers and announcements. It was my first time in the room, and sitting right next to a baby changing table there was a small paddle. About the size of those paddle ball games, but a bit thicker. So I put it to good use on young miss Emily until she was a very sorry little girl. After service, there was a handful of appreciative remarks and no condemnation from anyone there. I think we've found our new church family. |

I've been sitting for folks at my church, where I help out in the Sunday School class, for about 6 years, as well as for relatives and friends of the family. I mostly get on really well with the kids, who I adore, but I have given the occasional spanking. I do mean occasional - like probably a dozen times. Last Saturday night, I sat for some church folk, and when the parents came back I said the kid had been a bit restless and I had to put him back to sleep a few times as he kept getting up and crying for his mom. He's about 7, so a little old for that. I didn't spank him, as he seemed to genuinely miss his mom, and needed reassurance more than anything. Of course, I mentioned this to his parents and his dad got real pissed. Not with me, but about the boy's behavior. Anyway, in Sunday School the boy seemed real sad. I asked him what was wrong and he reluctantly told me his dad gave him seven licks of the belt for being bad for me. He said his bottom still hurt. I felt real bad for him. I'm all for spanking when it's justified, I've given a few as I've said and made them hurt, but some folks are just plain mean. |

I try to avoid spanking if at all possible, preferring to use chores, writing lines, confiscating toys and timeouts, instead. However, it's obvious that spanking is needed, if for no other reason than to enforce the other punishments when my kids don't comply with them. Generally, I spank over their pyjamas or their underwear, but for really serious misbehavior I give them what I call a 'pansdsowner' and spank their bare bottoms. This happens infrequently - say once a month. I use my hand to spank, but always make it worthwhile, a minimum of twenty slaps, progressing to forty as they mature. I like to reserve it as the ultimate punishment, and it always seems to do the trick. Just the threat of one when there's a hint of non-compliance usually results in them hastily changing their minds. My youngest son, who will turn five in March earned himself his first formal, bare bottom spanking this evening. He refused to obey my direction to tidy up his toys. I gave him two warnings, and then decided that it was time he learned his lesson. PJs down to his ankles, exposing his bare bottom, I placed him over my knee and gave him and gave him twenty hard slaps, slowly and methodically, allowing him to register each slap before applying the next. It took around a minute, maybe a little longer. It isn't easy, slapping an already reddened little bottom, when he's crying, begging and wriggling. But I feel it's necessary so that he understands real punishment is available. Hubby thought I was a bit mean, given his age. How do you spank? When did you start? How do you feel when they get to the wriggly, kicking stage? |

You can imagine that things have been rough for the children and me, but thankfully we had our church community to lean on. Especially our pastor and is wife where a god send, both spiritually as well as in practical matters. I can’t imagine how I would have made it through the last 10 month without their support. Things are slowly going back to some semblance of normalcy now. There is one area of concern however and that is the children’s behavior. This is to a large extend my own fault, my husband was always the disciplinarian in our home, and I have struggled to fulfill that role. In the first couple of months, I convinced myself it was expected that children act up a bit and that I should be more lenient. I led behaviors slide, that previously would have earned them a good long paddling by my husband. Especially the older two didn’t react well, my husband would be appalled by some their behaviors. After talking to our pastor, I realized I wasn’t doing them any favors with this, so I tried to strictly enforce the old rules and spank them when necessary, but things haven’t gone well. I just can’t bring myself to properly spank them. Intellectually I understand it’s necessary, but as soon as the first tears flow, I can’t bring myself to go through with it. I know I’m failing them and pray every day to find the strength to do right by them, but so far those prayers haven’t been answered. Maybe someone he had similar struggles and can offer some advice. I also considered to ask our pastor to step in and take over the spanking, but I’m unsure if this is appropriate or not. I know he spanks his own children, but I don’t want to be a bigger burden then I already am. Clarissa |

I extended his curfew from midnight to 1am. He told me he was joining another couple for dinner and then going to a friends house for a party. He told me that it was being adult supervised. He got home at 1:45 and I could tell he had been drinking. I had a few friends over so I did not want to discipline at that time. I just told him to go to bed. I was a little embarrassed for my friends to see him in that condition. The next morning, I woke him at 8:00 to get ready for church service. I said nothing to him as I wanted to check out a few things. I saw his GF Parents and asked them when she got home, were they still up. They informed be that she had missed curfew and they also could tell she had been drinking. The Mom said that she will have problems sitting oncw they get home. I told them my son would also. Once home, I told the kids to get out of their Sunday clothes and come and help with breakfast. My daughters and youngest son showed up and helped with breakfast. I walked to my oldest sons room and he was sound asleep. I went and called the parents of were the party was and asked them if they knew about the party and that some of the kids were drinking. They knew nothing of the party. So I thought to myself, he missed curfew, he was drinking underage and he lied to me. I went and grabbed the paddle, and went straight to his room. I woke him up, made him stand up. I told him he was not only getting a sound paddling but he was also getting his mouth soaped. While standing in front of me, I lectured him about his disobedience. I helped him over my knee while he was pleading. I gave him a good hand spanking which brought tears. I then stoold him up and walked him to the bathroom where I soaped his mouth. Back to his room and over my knees again for a good dose of the paddle. he was sobbing when the spanking was over and went staright to the corner. I told his to just meditate on his disobedeience. I went back to his room thirty minutes later and we knelt down and prayed. He asked for forgiveness and then apologized to me asking me to forgive him also. Due to the nature of his disobedience, while still kneeling, I handed him his rosary and told him to say the beatitudes while saying the rosary. Unfortunately he started back to school today and will have problems sitting. I am sure some of his friends will also. I am praying that now that my children are all teens, that spankings will be decreased immensely this year. |

The service lasted about two hours. When we got home, my oldest daughter came to me and said, Mom I need to talk to you in private. I asked if she was feeling alright and she said she was. We went to my bedroom, closed the door, and I said what is it that you need to talk to me about. She said while she was in the confessional talking to the priest she confessed to him that she had shoplifted a very expensive bracelet last week while at the mall. She then showed me the bracelet. She was almost in tears telling me this as her voice was cracking. I told her that I was not happy for what she did but I am glad she has confessed it to me. She said that the priest suggested I tell you and hoped for forgiveness. I told her that the first thing that had to be done was for her to be disciplined for her actions. I aked her what she felt the discipline should be. She said, Mom I think you need to give me a spanking. She said, I know if I was younger that is exactly what you would do. I said yes it is. I told her to remove her shoes, skirt and underwear and lay over my knee. Since the paddle was in the kitchen, I grabbed my flat back brush off the dresser. After a thorough hand spanking and also with the brush, she was bawling. I helped her off my knees and told her to go meditate in the corner of the room. Once she had stopped crying and she had calmed down and redressed, we sat and talked about what she did. She asked me if I could ever forgive her, and I said if Jesus can forgive you so can I. We then knelt and prayed for forgiveness. When we finished praying she said it felt as a 50 pound weight had been lifted off of her. We will be returning the braclet this morning and hoping all goes well with the store manager. Last night after I was ready for bed, I knelt down and ask God to help my daughter this morning when she returns the bracelet. She is afraid that the store manager will press charges against her and have her arrested. I feel she has learnt her lesson and admitted to what she did, not only to our priest and me but also asked for forgiveness from God. |

If we are at someones house and they needed a spanking, I would excuse myself and take the child to another room. When ever I did spank away from home, The spanking was just enough to get them to behave. They were promised with a spanking when we got home. I have also spanked in hotel rooms while on vacation. The last time I spanked one of my kids in public was my oldest daughter when she was 14. We were buying a swim suit and she wanted a two piece suit and I said positively no. She gave me attitude and sass. We went to the rest room, where I gave her several swats with my hairbrush on top of her slacks. When we got home, in her bedroom she was spanked and then put into the corner. After her corner time and she had redressed we knelt and prayed and she asked for forgiveness. She apologized again and we went our separate ways. Now days, I just give them the look, or just say, we will discuss it at home. they know what that means.
