my people are very traditional.... we repeat practices over many, many generations.

there are three types of people in my peoples world.... those that are destined to be Mortal Guardians, those that are destined to be Area Guardians, and those that are destined to be Gate Guardians.
The Gate Guardians are born in Yularia, raised in Yularia, and never truly die. When their bodies expire after many eons, they turn into protection spells and attach to the castle. the Area Guardians, like myself, are born and raised in Yularia. but because of one thing or another, we outlive out life and do not become spells. we become immortal then, and are sent elsewhere to protect something. i was sent here, to guard these crystals and the stones. others are sent to other important places, sometimes more than one to an area. there is exactly one of us for every planet and moon. if we eventually die there, our spells go into that area and somebody comes to be our successor.

Mortal Guardians are those that follow a single mortal of great power or importance. there are more of them around you than you think. they come to be in a very unusual manor..... well, let me explain something first. when my kind are born, we know our names. it is a knowledge that we carry with us, and tell to our parents. the Mortal Guardians are those that are born without names. when they grow up, they are forgotten because they have no name to bind them to our world. they are eventually sent out to protect somebody, because that is how they prove themselves. once they have done that, they get a name- and then they die. they set their protection spell onto anything that they wish. so i could not tell you her name, she will have to tell you that herself when she realizes what it is.
