Great post, Ken. At Da Nang 1965-1966, there were no augmentees with our AP squadron. Over the years posting stories, I came to appreciate their commitments to do-something to help defend the Air Bases in Vietnam and Thailand. some even risked favor and promotions signing up for Augmentee Training (against encouragement not to by their over worked and under staffed NCOs). Two Augments (one by a VC/NVA grenade) were KIA fighting shoulder to shoulder with our squadrons.
