The parishioners of the Mission San Gabriel (Los Angeles) refurbished the interior of their sanctuary. It was set to open yesterday. On Saturday, someone set fire to the sanctuary and burned much of the refurbished interior. In the Diocese of Orange at the Christ Cathedral (formerly the Crystal Cathedral) a friend told me that there were six armed, off-duty policemen watching over the grounds. This was a couple of weeks ago when all the rioting and looting were being done in the L.A. area.
