Kevin Fitzgerald (Tan Son Nhut 66-67) Life Member #41 and Charter Member, was a fine friend and brother to all who knew him. He was our president, initially serving as vice president and then as our president when president and Charter Member Ted Janiak (K9 Ubon and Tan Son Nhut 66-67) passed away unexpectedly. Kevin was elected as our president in 1999 and served until 2002. He continued to serve as past president on the VSPA Board of Directors for six more years. In 2001, he became directly involved in the 9/11 investigation. Using his law enforcement and military skills, he aided immeasurably in the investigation when he recovered and secured extensive evidence left behind by one of the bombers who had stayed in the hotel where Kevin was manager. We owe Kevin a debt of thanks for his service to our country and to the VSPA. Rendering a hand salute on Memorial Day is something Kevin has done for so many others. Now, it is our time to render that salute for Kevin, the friend and brother who was taken too soon by Agent Orange related cancer.
