I was at Cam Rahn Bay air base and there were two beaches on the South China Sea side that were used by the enlisted and officers. The officers beach was called South Beach by us and used by the officers and nurses. The enlisted beach was called Johnson beach. Transportation to the beach from the base was shuttle bus and what ever vehicle you could scrounge or hitch a ride on for the two mile trip. Facilities consisted of a snack bar for burgers, beer and soda. Some weekends a band would do a matinee show. Patronage was mostly off duty AF and Army and recovering personnel from the hospitals. There are photos on you tube. Larry
