I have pondered this for a bit and here is my input. Being a terminal organization with our youngest possible member under current criteria being born in 1957 and serving in Thailand there won't be a VSPA membership after around 2043. So between now and then, what I think is most important to our officers is carry on our goals, as stated in our FAQ sheet. It takes special dedication to that goal and not to carry any personal agenda to office. The greatest part of VSPA has been the bulletin board and the reason I joined. I am saddened that some members passed before I could shout out to them, and grateful I have found people who I was stationed with, or at the same bases or knew the same people. Plus meeting some outstanding new people. So to me anyone who seeks office has to be able to carry on the functions of the office, believe in sustaining membership, and camaraderie. We are all old men with opinions we have all lived through a hard part of life lets enjoy what we have left with our brothers.
