Subject: SF Academy History Project

Here is the info they are asking for on this project. Pete

Bottom Line Up Front

We want to hear your stories. How you experienced what we now know as our History. We would like to use your firsthand accounts of being an early Defender and what you experienced, how you dealt with the conditions, and why.
Actions to take

Please provide your story in written/emailed or video recorded formats and sending it to

justin.saunders@q.com
or
MSgt Justin Saunders 343 TRS
Bldg. 10215 1325 Harmon Drive
JBSA-Lackland, TX 78236.

If you are local to the San Antonio Area, I will also be willing to come to you and engage in discuss about your experiences. Additionally, If you have pictures you would like to use for the video please provide them with your response.

I can be reached at either email or mail address above or at

Justin.saunders@us.af.mil (210) 542-8782 or (210) 671-5133

Crafting your Story

1. Think about your purpose for doing this. One approach is to consider if you only have this one chance to leave behind a short message for all Defenders, what would you want it to be? What points would you hit? What do you want to leave them with?

2. Develop an outline based on the topic (see topics list)

Speakers Guide

1. Your story or message should be between 2 to 10 minutes. The goal is for the SF community to be able to use these videos to obtain first person accounts of history, for training, CC calls, etc.

2. The collection of your story initially will be to review and assist preparation for the camera.

3. Use language that is appropriate for all audiences.

4. Do not promote or sell any product or specific methodology that is outside of the career field. (e.g. you can reference that you learned from a speaker about XYZ and how you applied that as it relates to your story but not that everyone should go see a particular speaker or buy their book)

5. Remember that this is about your experience and you are telling it from your perspective and not from someone else’s. If you are going to use someone else’s name specifically in your story, you should mention it to them beforehand so they are not surprised if they run across the video.
