I realised that there are far better lessons there for Jess (take a look around under phonics), I found some for Daniel too as he really struggles with his spelling (like his Mum ;) so I figure we'll go back to some pretty basic stuff and work from there.

Check this out when a one syllable word ends in a final consonant double the final consonant before adding the ing Oh really? LMAO... where was I when this particular gem was taught at school??? Probably with my head buried in a book! The things you have to learn in order to teach... and I do NOT even want to discuss the maths worksheets.... shudder! ;-)
