Will pray for steady progress from now on.I find it easier to know when a dog is in pain than when a cat is in pain. When my oldest cat a grey tabby was young-she was an outdoor/indoor cat.My son had found her years ago when he was going to university-she was in a culvert that was coveres by snow-he rescued her and kept her smuggled in the dorm. When he was through he bought her home to me.A year later she went missing for a week.I went out to the driveway one morning and there she was dragging herself on the ground.Took her to the vet.She had her leg broken clear through.Vet said the only thing he knew that would make that kind of break was if she climbed in a shed window and it fell on her and she couldn't get out until someone went to their shed for something..which would account for the fact of a lot of lost weight and the fact she stayed away so long. All these years since there are times she gives a pain cry when she is walking. The nearest we can calculate her age is somewhere around 15.Vet says probably arthritis sets in on some days. Her name is Sly.Then there is Cleo an old Himmelayan we were supposed to "put down"at the shelter..she spends her days just sitting on a cushion looking pretty.Heaven knows her age.former owners bred her until she couldn't breed any longer.Unlike most cats she loves to be combed. Then there is Casper-turkish angora..he was the most bad kitten in the shelter and no one would adopt him.He weighs 28 lbs..thats over 2 stone! Not uncommon weight for a Turkish Angora..all white long but not fluffy hair.He has calmed down at 4 years of age but will still attact people on occasion so when we have company he is banned to my bedroom until they leave. He has 4 hugh double paws.I think he believes he is a dog because he will cuddle up with any one of my dogs. The old gals "Sly and Cleo"can't live too many more years so I will enjoy them now as much as I can now!Vet is amazed by the good condition of their coats and teeth.Check up at vets was last week.Since they are so old and indoor cats he wouldn't needle them.He said at their age it could do more harm than good.Casper wasn't so lucky..he got the needle and tried to bite the vet.Once again hoping for a speedy recovery for your cat.Hugs..Tina
