Subject: I dn't think it's quite that hot here in Auckland
In reply to: Tina Swinimer 's message, "Re: Tina are we all invited to sample :)" on 09:27:49 02/17/02 Sun

I just checked - our expected high here today is 24C (anyone know what that might be in F?). But I can tell you that it is a BEAUTIFUL day out there... crystal clear deep blue sky, still as anything NO (oh JOY!!) humidity!!! And that I'll be going out to enjoy it shortly. :) As for clothing - stictly shorts or light weight cotton skirts and T shirts or similar! Sunhats and indoor fans in every room and cold drinks and cool showers... but I guess we all adapt to our climates, not sure how I would handle extreme cold for long periods at all though. Auckland is pretty mellow weather wise, about the highest we've ever hit (and it was right here in Henderson a year or two back) was around what Ellie has mentioned but sometimes the humidity does get me down (Auckland is surrounded by harbours and ocean so we tend towards humid). HA... no sooner do I say how wonderful it is today but a cloud rolls over, too funny ;) opps.... it's going now :) - there's a saying here in Auckland which goes "If you don't like the weather... wait half an hour" *grin*.

PS - we had BBQ chicken and salad last night and all made for it was boring olive oil and vinegar dressing and all the time I was eating it I was thinking of you Tina :) and wishing you'd appear with one of Kats amazing dressings!!! Next time I will make more of an effort. :)
