But I will HAPPILY come and be your taste tester!
I am just no good at this stuff.
I usually take little chicken drumettes (the heaviest part of a chicken wing) cooked under the broiler with BBQ sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
Also tortilla roll-ups.
You need the large "Burrito-size flout tortillas.
Spinach dip (commercial or from the deli)
Some slices of a good deli ham and/or turkey (very thinly sliced).
Spread as many tortillas as you have meat slices, with the spinach dip. Top with the sliced meat, come all the way to the edge of the tortilla.
Roll up jelly-roll fashion. Chill for several hours or overnight (wrap in plastic wrap.) When ready to serve, cut slices and you will have a spiral effect of the white tortilla, the white and green spinach dip and the pink of the meat.
Both these are very un-glamorous and trendy - but always get eaten.
I have also taken a crockpot full of chili to ordouerves parties with disposable cups and plastic spoons. Also a couple of bowls of grated cheese and chopped onions for topping. Sometimes the men appreciate that, especially later in the evening, when they didn't get enough finger food!
