Last summer I had a bunch of boxes of "goog junk"collected for a yard sale-got lazy-gave them all to the local animal shelter for their yearly yard sale and ended up working at the yard sale all day..it was fun.Our local shelter rents an exhibition building from 1st of May until first week-end in June.Collections and please for things are held all month. On the day of the sale $1. entry fee per person about 1500 people on average..this has been on going for 8 years now..This hugh building "which is full of stuff"is emptied between 9 a.m.and 4 p.m The big stuff "fridges, stoves or any really new donations are auctioned off noon to 2 pm in another part of the building..average sales each year are a
whopping $20.000 Isn't that great? After paying building rent and gas expenses for pick-ups $18.000 profit. It keeps the non profit shelter running for 4 or 5 months..Local food stores donate "broken bag"dog and cat food which means between Christmas open house day where people bring gifts and the store donations all foods are supplied.Thought I'd give a few ideas in case anyone wants some to help their local shelters.Hugs all..Tina
