Kmart has disks available at their stores for free internet service [if that is within her local calling area]. You have to put up with the Kmart advertising but for free that is not a bad deal!!!!!

I will try to surf out some free internet services. Other than that I think the cable internet is a pretty good deal - with cable service [which I would have anyway] I get blinding speed and $10.00 month off of my internet bill. It is cheaper than the AOL we had and loads faster.
