Three T-givings??? Now as I seem to recall, you were in the midst of cooking for the first one a week early while we were on the phone - so there's one. I'm *sure* I told you when it really was - so that's two. How in the world did you manage three?

Remember my dilema about Matty boy wanting to get each girl a small TV and VCR for their room? Well, he won (very thankful we had been saving for Xmas for months). You know his company went bankrupt and now that we're strapped for cash (still working but the money isn't quite the same) he thinks they were too young. HA! Double HA! So I got in an "I told you so" and that was that.

Christmas Eve is the night we all go over to his mom's house and most people stay late and get stinkin' drunk. The girls were lovely in their Xmas duds BUT by the end of the evening poor Jessie's toe was red and swollen. So bad the kid couldn't put a shoe on. Went home early (Matt already in B.B. - Beer Boy - mode) and soaked her toe in epsom salts, put on some antibiotic ointment just cause and sent the kids to bed. Mom stayed up playing Santa. Luckily we had our very first dusting of snow the night before and Santa's reindeer were able to leave many tracks in the snow. Pssst...I almost forgot that part. You should have seen me out there at 5:50am in PJ shorts, a coat and slippers frantically pushing my knuckles in the snow and dragging a broom handle to make sleigh marks.

My parents had been here two weeks before and the girls were totally spoiled by them. Diane, you'll love this one. Jessie got two Steve Irwin dolls that talk. One a small action type figure and the other a floppy thing with a huge head. Darn kid walked around saying "Crikey! Look at the size of 'er! You gotta love 'em" for days. Colleen, my little lady, was thrilled with a sewing box from my mom and has been embroidering her little heart out. The funniest thing was opening the gifts little Jess chose for us. Keep in mind that she refused to take money from us and gave away things that were hers. A book and a stuffed animal for Colleen, her favorite Disney movie for me ("but I'll keep it in my room for you, okay Mom?), and a picture of a Harley Davidson bike for her dad.

Went to Matt's mom's house after that, Jess with a slipper on her sore foot. Not too spoiled there this year. In years past we've always had - I kid you not - a truckload to bring home. After that it was back home to cook broccoli rice casserole and tofu/cheese shells and off to Matt's grandpa's house. That's the place where you have to get all decked out and have a formal type dinner - usually. This year Bucky had just been released from the hospital for a mild stroke so we still got decked out but ate from paper plates and tossed everything away. Old Nanny, the just under 101 year old lady, was the center of attention. Her new live-in companion, Anna (came from Poland less than a year ago), was with her and I thought how very difficult it must have been for her to be in this strange country with strange people and her family so very far away. I know how much I miss my own family and they're only two state's away. I hope she was comfortable.

I still wish I'd been BBQing with you, Diane, but it was a nice couple of days. Glad it's over though. So...was that more than you wanted to know??
