Well for starters.. this may be surprise.. the fruits of the kangaroo apple (edible, but only when the fruit is bright orange, when it's green it's poisonous) is also used.. well, the seeds of the fruit, as a chemical contraceptive.(female) Apparently they are shipped to Russia for this. The leaves of nardoo, a swamp plant, looks a bit like a 4 leaf clover, can be used for eye infections.
The needle like leaves of the she-oak (causarina) can be sucked to relieve thirst. It creates saliva in the mouth.
Native raspberries are delicious to eat.. the leaves of the common sarsparilla bush can be brewed into a refreshing cuppa tea. Well, I could go on... if there any any specifics you'd like to know about I'll see what I can do!
