I can remember when my Mother was having a nasty PMS moment (didn't know at the time what the cause was) and would be snappy with a rude clerk.....I would just cringe. But now, I just get so tired of how poorly the customer is treated. It seems if I am dealt with common courtesy I am taken aback - it is so unusual. My favorite is when the clerk rings up your purchase, bags your item, receives payment and makes change without ever getting off the $#%^&& phone or making eye contact. Arggghhh.
I was in a chain-type deli recently to pick up a couple sandwiches. They have to have a "special" person ring you up and take payment....never mind their are 8 people standing around doing nothing. My food had been given to me, but no one came up to take my payment. I finally yelled "Will one of you please come up here and ring this up!" They are all 16-17 and the "Manager" is 18!
