Peace lillies, sometimes called Arum lillies, are great to keep inside. You basically can't kill them (ask me, I've tried) and they come in various different species and sizes. I have several. Also, I read somewhere once that they are the healthiest indoor plant to have because they work extra hard at the whole photosynthesis thing and this somehow translates to a healthier environment. That's why they are so good to keep in your office too.

I also like cyclamens inside, these can be a little more temperamental as you have to be careful with their watering, but they come in the most glorious colours you have ever seen from the hottest and most lurid pink to the purest white - they are gorgeous. They do well on the bathroom/kitchen window sill or on the coffee table.

Maiden hair ferns are also nice indoors - these are pretty easy to look after and only need a haircut once in a while. My tip is to keep them standing in about an inch of water all the time though - I use an old chinese takeout container and stand the pot in that (it's only a small one).
