"Sure. They're in my weaponry bag over there on the couch," KS waves her hand vaguely in the direction of the Mayor's living room. She'd taken off the bag when they'd arrived at the party and she had a hot flash in all that leather. Behind her, she hears Kande gasp. "What?"

"Oh. My. God. What happened to you?" KS turns around to see Kande pointing a quivering finger towards their father, who is holding up a bloody hand and has blood smeared all over his face.

"Sheesh, Dad. Do you have to do that here?" KS looks quickly around, then snatches one of the Mayor's doilies from beneath a plant and wraps it around Dad's hand. Behind her, Kande is retching into an antique spitoon near the fireplace.

"How bad is it? Do we need to rush him to the hospital?" Kande asks in a wavering voice.

"Nah. He just cut his hand on the cheese knife," KS informs her, quickly wrapping up the finger and then smacking Dad upside the head. "You and your party tricks," she snarls at him. "You want to give someone a heart attack?"

"As in your youngest daughter!" Kande informs him haughtily. She can't believe she fell for that.

"Ha, you should have seen your face!" Dad lifts his shirttail and wipes off his face.

Kande whirls on her sister. "And you! Can't you contain him any better than that?"

KS looks surprised. "Me? Contain him? Where do you think the kids learned all their tricks? Besides, a little blood never hurt anyone."

Kande looks down at the Mayor's white couch, which is now completely covered in drops of blood. "Oh, I wouldn't be so quick to say that."
