the rules changed thank goodness---cut those darn traveling fouls by 90%!" said CW after spitting out that darn old plastic whistle. "Need to get a new one of these too I guess--pealess is the best!"

Kande rubbed her throbbing head trying to figure out just what she is supposed to be doing.

"Here" whispered Bubba "hold the ball like this, elbow in and for crying out loud, keep your feet on the floor for a free throw, will you?!"

"When you get 10 in a row, we will start on 3 pointers!" whispered CW, trying to keep Kande's headache from getting any worse.

Kande took the ball, trying to copy Bubba's three finger position on the ball and finally gave up. Firmly putting her hands on the ball, elbow in, and toes just behind the line, she bent her knees, stared at the rim and let the basketball fly. "Oops" she said as the ball flew over the top of the backboard. "I guess I shouldn't have had that extra bowl of Wheaties for breakfast."

An exaspirated CW rebounded the ball with a quick jump over Rabid's crooked cartwheel at the baseline. "Here, try again only half-speed" she suggested, somewhat amused at the whole little scene.

Trying again, lining up carefully, hands positioned properly on the ball, Kande bent her knees only half as far and let the ball fly in a graceful arc at the basket. "Bonk" went the ball as it hit the back of the rim, bouncing straight up in the air, down into the net. Shaking, Kande said "gimme another one of those basketballs!"
