Kande tricked me again, KM thinks to herself. She switched watches on me. Why, I oughta...

"I demand to see the videotape! In my office. NOW!" she roars out loud.

The crowd jumps. They had turned away to watch the Dancing Danas, leaving their leader to stand and mutter to herself in the corner.

"I don't think that's such a good idea," KS tells her, tucking the videotape into the front of her pants and backing towards the door.

Det plants herself in front of the door, striking a super-hero pose sure to cause the most evil Shippervillian to quail.

KS ignores her. "I'll be happy to show the videotape, Mayor, just as soon as I edit a few things." She reassures KM, who looks anything but.

"Like what?" Rabid joins Det at the door. Last time KS was in the editing room, the Library discovered it was missing all its Barney and Teletubby tapes and there were a lot of unhappy toddlers in Shipperville, all of whom Rabid had to placate.

KS runs a finger beneath the collar of her snow-white tee shirt and looks beseechingly at the Mayor. "I videotaped the removal of Bud the cyst," she informs the crowd. "Lots of blood and gore. Appropriate fare for an assassin, but not for the faint-hearted."

Rabid scoffs. "That may be a good excuse for some, but not for X-file fans. We laugh in the face of gore!" she peels off with a high-pitched titter. "We spit in the face of vampires and slug entities. We..."

"We get it," the Mayor dismisses the remainder of Rabid's protest. "Hand over the tape."

"No, it's mine." KS covers the tape at her mid-section protectively. Her hand hovers over the variety of tools housed in her assassin's belt. "You'll have to take me down to get it."

Kande rolls over in her wheelchair. "Wait a minute, why shouldn't we be allowed to see Bud's last days?" she sniffs. "He was my cyst. I want to be able to say good-bye.

KS's eyes meet Stardoe's over the crowd. Stardoe shakes her head in an emphatic NO.

Kande is musing over what she remembers in the operating room. She remembers someone hovering over her with a green mask covering the bottom of her face. Someone she had mistaken as her sister. There must have been someone else in the room, she thinks, someone who stole my watch. But KS wouldn't cover for someone else, would she? There must have been something else that happened in there, something she doesn't want anyone to know...

Kande throws off the blanket covering her knees. "Where's the bottom half of my leg?" she wails.
