Brian was fine the last day I saw him. He was happy, relaxed and looking forward. He was bored shitless with having Anna around, which wasnt hard to see. She was sweet but dumb as rocks. I met Frank of course, and thought he was just a stupid laborer, but Brian seemed to get on well enough with him. They werent exactly buddies, but he didnt seem uncomfortable around him. We took beers out to the workmen, then sat by the pool. The workmen hit on me, which Brian found funny. I did meet Tom Keylock once but didnt like his eyes. He was a shifty sort, but again, not the brightest bulb in the box.
Cotchford was beautiful! I loved that house, which wasnt too far really from my mothers house in Brighton. One of the things I have trouble with is the reports that Brian was terrified of being left alone that night he died. People have tied that to the murder plot theories. Thing is, Brian knew if he needed me to, I could drive to his house in a little over a half hour and he wouldnt be alone. He wasnt anyway since useless little Anna was there, but he was used to calling me at all hours and I would come. So I cant see that there were plots afoot.
He was having more trouble than normal with the asthma, since it was a very hot summer for England, and the grasses were high. Let me get to my explanation about his health though. Maybe tomorrow.
